Job Summary

The Breastfeeding Support Specialist will provide expert guidance and support to patients navigating breastfeeding challenges, while also serving as a valuable resource for healthcare staff.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop personalized plans to support successful breastfeeding outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and education on breastfeeding best practices
  • Conduct lactation assessments and consult with healthcare providers as needed
  • Develop and implement educational programs to promote breastfeeding awareness and support
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on patient progress and outcomes


Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:



  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or related field
  • At least three years of clinical experience in lactation support, mother/baby care, or patient education
  • Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) certification
  • ANCC-recognized certification in Women's Health or Lactation Consulting (IBCLC or CLC)
