Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in the Nebraska/Iowa Market. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for leading electrical design projects from start to finish, collaborating with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver technically excellent design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate electrical designs for various types of buildings, including healthcare, laboratory facilities, federal, water/wastewater, utility, mission critical, and commercial office facilities.
  • Lead electrical design teams and mentor junior engineers to ensure high-quality designs and efficient project delivery.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations, and perform RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and site investigations.
  • Coordinate workload and ensure timely completion of documents, while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Review and edit design specifications, fee estimates, and cost opinions, and write technical documents as needed.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of construction documents and technical reports, and select equipment using vendor software and communicate with sales reps.
  • Track and meet design budgets, perform load calculations, and attend and lead design meetings with other team members.
  • Provide construction administration services throughout all phases of construction, and direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering (Electrical emphasis), or related field.
  • PE license and minimum of 10 years of related experience, with a proven successful history of designing lighting and electrical systems for various types of buildings.
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and organization, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team, with some travel required.
  • Attitude and commitment to our employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BIM/Revit experience and experience in sustainable design/LEED.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
