Job Summary

As a Seasonal Event Bartender at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of bar operations during events, including setup, service, and breakdown. You will also be responsible for monitoring the building and grounds, handling documentation, and adhering to Cheekwood's policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, execute, and break down event bars, and trash removal until buildings are clean and ready to be secured by Cheekwood Security or cleared by Event Coordinator.
  • Monitor building and grounds throughout events to ensure things are running smoothly; alert Security or Coordinator immediately with any issues or building damage.
  • Responsible for signing and filling out all appropriate documents as provided by Coordinator - including but not limited to Tip/Hour Sheet, Pull Sheet, and Side Work Sheet.
  • Responsible for set up, execution, and break down of bar kiosks, keeping accurate records of all inventory and sales, as well as equipment needed for the shift.
  • Verify identification and age requirements of patrons.
  • Politely greet and service all patrons when approached - including answering questions about Cheekwood's history, programming, drink related, etc. to best of one's knowledge.
  • Adhere to the dress uniform, this includes a name tag, as in the employee handbook and/or noted from a Coordinator/Manager/Director.
  • Responsible for reading and following all provided information provided prior to the shift, on the pull sheet at the beginning of the shift, and as instructed during the onsite pre-shift meeting so that one may be knowledgeable of timelines and details of that specific event.
  • Bartenders are required to supply their own bar tools as needed, including but not limited to a wine key and a bottle opener.
  • All bartenders are required to complete golf cart training and operate a golf cart. Golf cart must be cleaned from trash/debris after every shift, filled with gas as needed, and returned to the designated area at the end of the event.
Requirements
  • Must have both a valid driver's license and a current valid ABC Certificate; excellent client relation skills and advanced and extensive bar/alcohol knowledge.
  • Must have the availability to work days and evenings, including weekends and some holidays in outdoor weather conditions. This position is a great opportunity for anyone looking for part-time and flexible hours.
  • Must have prior bartending experience.
