Position Overview:
This role involves executing patient check-in and check-out processes, managing financial transactions, and delivering patient billing information. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong customer service abilities and proficient computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Follow revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines diligently.
  • Exhibit effective computer skills, manage filing systems, and answer phone inquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information and performing other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Conduct patient check-in and check-out procedures accurately. Handle sensitive patient health information (including current insurance verification and authorization, coding visits with precise ICD and CPT codes), balance daily receipts, and address billing inquiries. Schedule patient appointments while entering all necessary demographic and clinical data into the system and coordinating with relevant parties.
  • Order and maintain clinical and office supplies, as well as equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety and regulatory standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control policies. Participate in unit performance improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and visitors. Show effective communication skills and teamwork.

Additional Information:
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
  • No licensure or certification is necessary.
Professional Experience Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited medical administrative assisting program and prior experience in a medical office is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Proficient in speaking effectively before groups of patients or employees.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Competent in computing rates, ratios, and percentages.

Computer Skills:
Ability to accurately enter and process data.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions. Capable of addressing problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
