Job Title: Patient Care Assistant (PCA)

Position Overview:

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting residents with their daily activities as outlined in their personalized care plans. Responsibilities include personal hygiene assistance, meal service, housekeeping, laundry, behavioral support, social engagement, and fulfilling informational needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate personal care to residents.
  • Assist with daily living activities and ensure a comfortable environment.
  • Engage residents in social and recreational activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces.
  • Support residents with orientation and information needs.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent; completion of required training programs.
Skills: Basic literacy and communication skills in English; ability to interact effectively with residents and families.
Experience: Prior experience working with elderly populations; familiarity with dementia care is advantageous.
Licensure: Completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program; good standing in the state registry is mandatory.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods; capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance; full use of hands and arms for various tasks; ability to operate household appliances and equipment.
