You will also be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of hospital policies and department policies and procedures, performing job duties within the parameters of these policies and procedures.

- SHIFT: Full Time, 40hrs/week - 8 hr shifts, Start Time 1:30pm
- COMPENSATION RANGE: $87.08 (Plus additional 12% Evening Differential)

EDUCATION
Must have a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, or other related science.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of completed pre-licensure training in California State Department Public Health accredited training program
Minimum of three years of general laboratory experience in a hospital or equivalent setting or three (3) continuous years with Marin General Hospital. LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
Current valid California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or a limited California license in a specialization such as microbiology DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for ensuring duties of assigned shift or work area are completed, working with other staff to adjust workload as necessary
2. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of hospital policies and department policies and procedures. Responsible for performing job within the parameters of these policies and procedures: the following examples are not inclusive of all policies:
A. Follow all appropriate Blood and Body Fluid Precaution
B. Comply with laboratory quality control program
C. Maintaining records
D. Follow turnaround time policies
3. Use computer for data entry and information retrieval
4. Handle and process lab specimens
5. Perform test procedures specific to assigned section
6. Check test results for validity
7. Responsible for maintenance, calibration, and assessing accuracy and reproducibility of instrumentation
8. Keep equipment and work area clean and safe for use
9. Participate in competency testing and training
10. Participate in Proficiency Testing (CAP surveys)
11. Keep adequate stock of supplies in work area
12. Responsible for the operation of the assigned work area
13. Direct and instruct others in the performance of laboratory procedures
14. Responsible for routine care and maintenance of equipment in assigned work area or program i.e. safety, POC.

The compensation for this role listed on this posting is in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on the individual's skills, experience, internal/market equity factors, and qualifications.
