The Radiation Therapist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery of radiation therapy to patients. This involves operating complex equipment, performing quality assurance checks, and collaborating with physicians to develop individualized treatment plans. Responsibilities

The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for:
  • Operating radiation therapy equipment to simulate and treat patients for malignancies
  • Completing required documentation in medical records, charge procedures, and quality assurance checks
  • Assisting in dosimetry procedures, including obtaining patient parameters and educating patients regarding simulation and treatment procedures
  • Observing patient reactions and reporting them to physicians and nurses
  • Delivering prescribed planned courses of radiation therapy, preparing room and equipment for patient treatments, and monitoring patient and equipment during treatment
  • Participating in clinical education of radiation therapy students and performing other related duties as requested or assigned
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree from an accredited school of radiation therapy, be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist (RT(T)(ARRT)), and licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT). Experience working with simulation and radiation therapy equipment is highly desirable. We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
