Job Summary:

Kimchuk, Inc. is a fast-paced, technologically advanced electronics firm with a high product mix. We manufacture complex circuit card assemblies, cable & harness assemblies, and box builds, specializing in Electronic and Electromechanical Contract Manufacturing Services and Engineering Design.

In this role, the Quality Engineer will be the primary interface with customers and suppliers to meet customer technical and quality requirements, as well as resolve quality issues. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and supporting the quality management system.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Direct interface with manufacturing and QC to resolve manufacturing issues and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Address internal and customer complaints by performing root cause analysis, identifying containment actions, and implementing corrective and preventative measures.
  3. Perform contract/purchase order reviews to ensure technical and quality requirements are identified and implemented for manufacturing and suppliers.
  4. Generate quality plans and inspection plans to address specific customer requirements.
  5. Generate and maintain quality management procedures and instructions.
  6. Have direct interface with customers, customer representatives, and auditors.
  7. Assist with addressing supplier quality issues as needed.
  8. Perform internal quality system audits and process audits.
  9. Review AS91020 First Article Reports (internal and external).
  10. Analyze performance metrics, identify trends, recommend, and implement actions for improvement.
Education/Experience Required:

A BS degree in a technical field or a minimum of 5 years' experience in contract manufacturing of high-reliability electro/mechanical assemblies for the defense/aerospace industry is required. Circuit card assembly experience is a plus.

Experience with reading and interpreting customer documents, including engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, is necessary. Understanding of component data sheets, mil spec documentation for electronic components, and J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification is also required.

Experience in performing quality and process audits under an ISO9001/AS9100 quality system, AS9102 First Article requirements, and root cause and corrective action using tools such as 8D, fishbone, and 5 why is preferred.

Special Training & Required Skills:

AS9100 lead auditor certification and J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 Trainer Certification are a plus.

Computer Experience Required:

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary.
