Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of our Quality Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for program oversight, assistance to the Quality Director, and supervision of quality staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise quality staff and oversee daily operations of the department.
  • Utilize process improvement strategies to conduct analysis of data and collaborate with department/unit and organizational leadership.
  • Promote processes that increase high reliability, patient safety, quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Supervise and participate in the investigation of adverse events and report related information to the Director of Quality and the Director of Risk Management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical areas in applying High Reliability Principles and utilize project management skills to facilitate improvements that have a positive impact on patient safety.
  • Oversee the physician peer review process and collaborate with Peer Review partners during the Peer Review Process.
  • Function as an expert resource for interpreting and ensuring adherence to all Joint Commission, State, and Federal standards, and provide ongoing education to departments related to regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and conduct reviews of patient grievances and collaborate with Risk/Patient Advocacy to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, common cause analyses, and risk assessments utilizing High Reliability methods to identify system issues and assist department/unit leadership with development of process improvements.
  • Develop and review policy and/or procedure related to the quality department.
  • Assist departments/units with analyzing Patient Satisfaction/HCAHPS data and partner with leadership to develop strategies to improve patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee the CMS/Joint Commission Public Performance measures programs for Danbury Hospital/Norwalk Hospital.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Clinical expertise, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills required.
  • Minimum experience: five years.
  • Desired: Management experience.
Working Conditions

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.

Occupational: Some occupational risk.

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force.

Physical Environment: Generally pleasant working conditions.

Salary Range: $43.92 - $81.56 Hourly.
