Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform detailed engineering calculations using first principles and tackle design challenges with creative, practical solutions.
  2. Assist Project Managers in boat and vessel design, providing technical expertise to meet client needs.
  3. Adhere to and improve our Engineering Standards and Procedures to ensure top-tier quality and efficiency.
  4. Collaborate closely with engineers to document and solve complex design challenges.
  5. Complete engineering assignments on time using standard industry software and processes.
  6. Provide onsite engineering services to US Navy Combatant Craft Division (Code 83) at Little Creek Amphibious Base.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in naval architecture or marine engineering with at least 3 years related to small craft design.
  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, practices, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (BS/RINA/LR/ISO/USCG/ABYC) and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with developing calculations and drawings for Class and Flag review and approval.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Naval Architecture or related fields.
  • Shipyard or boatyard experience.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Professional certificates of competency in applicable CAD software.
