The Senior Pastry Cook is responsible for overseeing, guiding, and executing daily kitchen operations related to dessert preparation while upholding and enhancing standards of food quality, service timing, cleanliness, and staff management.

Due to the nature of our operations, this role requires availability on weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

General Duties:

  • Support the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef in supervising the bakery team.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef in creating and testing new recipes for special occasions.
  • Review all bakery products upon completion to ensure they meet presentation and quality standards.
  • Work alongside the Executive Pastry Chef to implement strategies for reducing operational costs while maintaining the quality of desserts and service.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by promptly reporting accidents and completing necessary documentation.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
Requirements:

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Prior experience in roles such as pastry cook, sous chef, or similar positions.
  • In-depth knowledge of dessert and pastry preparation techniques.
  • Ability to prepare mise en place for daily service and perform relevant closing tasks.
  • Capability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various shifts as needed.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires standing for the entirety of the shift.
  • Occasional exposure to varying temperatures and moisture levels.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and regularly lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow basic pastry cooking instructions.
