Oncology Nurse

A highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse is sought to join our team at Hope Oncology North. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document the daily care of assigned patients.
- Identify nursing diagnosis/patient care needs, individualize care plan, and revise plan of care as needed.
- Execute physician's orders for all assigned patients; administer medications and treatments and deliver population-specific competent nursing care in accordance with UTHSCT's policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform technical procedures/skills in the specialty area of oncology, which includes the administration of medications and treatments specific to cancer care primarily.
- Perform and report Point of Care testing.
- Provide basic patient/family instruction and healthcare teaching.
- Promote positive guest and patient relations.
- Respect and support patient rights.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
- Prioritize and organize work so that required assignments are completed within a specified time frame.
- Attend/participate in unit meetings/activities and support the philosophy and goals of the unit department and organization.
- Required to maintain competency in the patient safety functions related to their position.
- Completion of Annual Mandatory Training, TB testing, and required licensure and certifications before expiration date.
- Accountable for the identification and reduction of unsafe practices that could cause harm to patients.
- Responsible for acquiring working knowledge of and maintaining ongoing understanding of required practices, procedures, and processes to meet and exceed regulatory compliance standards.
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- RN with clinical experience in area of Oncology preferred.
- RN with experience in clinic setting preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- EMR experience.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and medical equipment such as I.V. pumps, portable oxygen, fluids, etc.
- Advanced, specialized nursing skills as appropriate to the nature of medical activity.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of all protocols and procedures within the specified clinic environment.
- Show competency in point of care testing and quality requirements for that testing.
