Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support our upcoming opportunity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing user requirements, developing system requirements specifications, and leading design and development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze user requirements and develop system requirements specifications to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Lead design and development activities to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of production systems.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements and advise on alternative approaches to ensure feasibility.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Develop technical documentation to support system development and implementation planning.
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure compatibility with defined system architecture.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans and Interface Control Documents.
  • Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of requirements to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on evaluation of development and operational considerations.
  • Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against requirements.
  • Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis.
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structures, work packages, and integrated master plans.
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements to describe functions that system components must fulfill.
  • Participate in establishing and gaining approval of system or component definitions under development.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms.
  • Ensure technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Requirements
  • Must possess a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience as a Systems Engineer supporting government programs and contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • Experience in the legal or technical aspects of Intelligence Community Privacy Compliance required.
