Job Purpose

This role is responsible for coordinating aspects related to the management of material and engineered drawings in support of the NE Substation Construction team, who constructs electric projects to support the successful operation and maintenance of the New England electric system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage material inventory levels and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, project managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring materials are available to complete projects on time and within budget, as well as resolving material discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and ensure that all safety and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for the safe and effective handling and storage of materials.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, construction planners, and engineers to ensure that required documents and materials are on hand prior to or accounted for prior to construction start.
  • Travel occasionally across the service territory to provide field support to supervisors who are staged at various project locations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, logistics, process, construction, or business discipline is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience in utility construction or management.
  • Experience in construction with a focus on safety, cost control, adherence to environmental regulations, work quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Strong aptitude for computer and business applications used to fully leverage technology solutions in the construction work environment.
  • Organization and management of multiple tasks/priorities to deliver high results.
  • Displays commitment to a safe and productive work environment through consistent actions, beliefs, and personal conduct.
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.
