Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CS/Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform efficient and meticulous decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, adhering to prescribed protocols and industry standards for aseptic technique.
  • Inspect and assemble surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs according to established protocols.
  • Rotate assignments among various decontamination, sterilization, processing, and surgical tray assembly tasks in a dynamic medical and surgical facility.
  • Assist in recordkeeping and monitoring equipment operations, maintaining department inventory, and identifying and reporting supply, equipment, and procedure problems.
  • Dispense equipment and supplies, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to meet the needs of our healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • Graduation from the HSPA and one year of related work experience, preferably in an operating room, acute care hospital, or central services department.
  • Current certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) at hire or within six months of date of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic setting.
