Sterile Processing Technician/CS I

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician/CS I to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Central Service Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices and instruments.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of tasks related to inventory management, decontamination, inspection, maintenance, and assembly of medical devices and instruments.
- Operate and maintain department equipment, including sterilizers, to ensure proper function and safety.
- Process and store medical supplies, instruments, and equipment, and distribute reprocessed products to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to identify and meet their needs for medical devices and instruments.
- Participate in error reporting and correction, and contribute to continuous improvement of system processes and staff performance.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and establish and maintain rapport with co-workers and customers.
- Knowledge of infection control principles, medical terminology, and basic anatomy.
- Ability to respond to customer requests for product or method of reprocessing.
- Able to obtain a completion of the Central Service Training course required by date of hire/transfer.
This is a full-time position with a variable schedule, working 40 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail and ability to multitask.
