Role Summary

The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager (CRM) is tasked with the vital role of identifying and nurturing new client partnerships for Midland States Bank. This position also focuses on enhancing and expanding relationships with existing clients, whether inherited or newly developed. The CRM serves as an advisor to both prospects and clients, leveraging all available resources of Midland States Bank to provide support. Additionally, this role acts as an advocate for clients within the bank, striving for mutually beneficial outcomes for both the client and the institution. The CRM is expected to cultivate and maintain a robust network of influential contacts within the market, concentrating on both Commercial Real Estate and Commercial & Industrial opportunities. It is essential for the CRM to embody Midland States Bank's vision and values, representing them both internally and within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated capability to generate a minimum of $10 million in new loan commitments annually.
  • Ability to secure at least $20,000 in loan fees each year.
  • Develop a strategic plan for all clients and prospects to continuously integrate additional resources from Midland States Bank.
  • Maintain an active list of loan and deposit prospects, conducting well-organized and value-driven joint calls.
  • Analyze financial data, structure and negotiate transactions, and manage ongoing credit maintenance tasks.
  • Minimize delinquencies by proactively collecting overdue loans and ensuring timely reporting from clients.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Engage actively in team meetings and contribute insights.
  • Complete all required training programs.
  • Exhibit proficiency in relevant computer systems and applications.
  • Keep current records of activities within the Client Management System.
  • Commit to a minimum of 25 hours per year in organizational activities that enhance business opportunities and support the bank's initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training and team meetings as necessary.
  • May require working in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support for both internal and external clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Commercial Banking.
  • Successful completion of bank-specific training for the position.
  • Proficiency in job-related computer applications.
  • Direct sales experience of three to five years.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual performance goals for the past three years.
