Position Profile:

 We are seeking a suitably experienced Facilities Manager. This role is responsible for planning and controlling a comprehensive facilities management service for PathWest controlled buildings and tenanted commercial collections sites across WA, obtaining and reviewing documentation supplied from other Hospital Service Providers to establish compliance currency at those sites.

The Facilities Manager develops and implements strategies and guidelines, monitors and reviews policies and performance, to ensure effective management of compliance, preventative, reactive and corrective maintenance and operations.

Area Profile:  With over 2,000 employees across an extensive range of pathology and support services, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA is committed to providing excellence and innovation in pathology testing, teaching and research. We offer a round-the-clock commitment to the health needs of the entire WA community through our laboratory facilities, collection centres, results lines and on-call clinicians. Our pathology services cover the broadest range of routine, complex and rare tests, and our active teaching, research and pathology development programs assist not only in enhancing diagnostic accuracy but also in improving the understanding of disease processes and of clinical care.

Eligibility to Apply:  Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of 12 months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
