Dental Front Office Scheduling Coordinator

The Scheduling Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing patient interactions, which includes welcoming patients, handling phone inquiries, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, processing insurance claims, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Compensation:

$20 - $23 hourly

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

  • Welcome patients and visitors, notifying the appropriate staff of arrivals.
  • Manage incoming calls, providing information and routing calls as per office protocols.
  • Efficiently schedule and modify patient appointments to optimize care and achieve practice goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient files, including contact and insurance details.
  • Discuss financial options with patients and accurately record payments.
  • Gather referrals from specialists and ensure they are properly documented.
  • Utilize office technology to transmit necessary information as required.
  • Keep the reception area organized and welcoming.
  • Oversee patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and maintain accurate records in the practice management system.
  • Conduct appointment reminders to ensure patient attendance.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
  • Regularly monitor and adjust the schedule as needed.
  • Communicate any scheduling issues to staff and management.
  • Register new patients and ensure all required documentation is completed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in scheduling and dental environments preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Active movement required throughout the day.
  • Close vision and depth perception necessary.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and staff.
  • Dexterity required for data entry and equipment operation.
  • May require first aid or CPR knowledge.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions.
