The Clinical Specialist plays a pivotal role in upholding American House Senior Living's mission to enrich the lives of those we serve. This leadership support position serves as an acting Wellness Director in the community, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Support ongoing training for Wellness Directors and implement company-wide clinical initiatives and programs.
- Partner with the Regional Wellness Director to monitor and address clinical challenges as needed.
- Supervise the Wellness team, including training, performance management, coaching, motivating, and evaluating team members.
- Implement, deliver, and coordinate resident services, ensuring compliance with state regulatory requirements.
- Assess and evaluate potential residents for Assisted Living/Memory Care level of care, utilizing assessment tools and conducting evaluations in residents' homes or healthcare settings.
- Ensure compliance with all state regulatory requirements, including mandatory reporting to the State Regulatory Body.
- Ensure accurate and timely medication management, oversight of the Medication Aide program, and quality assurance programs.
- Provide marketing support within the community, participating in tours and discussions with potential residents and their families about clinical needs.
- Work in conjunction with Residents' attending Physicians to ensure the highest quality of service.
- Maintain high-level confidentiality of all information related to the role.
- Investigate complaints, grievances, and incidents, and work with the Executive Director concerning appropriate responses and corrective actions.
- Create positive employee relations through staff appreciation programs, recognition of excellent performance, and retention through regular feedback systems and promotional incentive programs.
- Monitor licensure and certification compliance for all Wellness staff.
- Provide written and oral reports to the Executive Director and Regional Wellness Director concerning the operation of the Wellness Department.
- Lead coordination of health care services with other third-party providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Submit recommendations to the Executive Director for budget, equipment, and supplies.
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
- CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
- Three years of management experience in assisted living communities is necessary.
- Physiological and psychological knowledge related to gerontology and dementia care is essential.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical.
- Preferred skills include experience working with OnShift, Relias, and Yardi EHR/EMAR, as well as experience working as a Wellness Director for American House Senior Living.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
The Clinical Specialist will work in an office setting as well as throughout the community and its premises. The position requires 24/7 on-call clinical support for the designated community and up to 80% travel. The ability to help others with daily activities, communicate effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
