Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Physician Assistant (PA), or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team in the Outpatient Allergy Medicine department at the Cleveland Clinic. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of innovative care strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab and radiology tests to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and education, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing and other healthcare team members, and ensure quality patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and continuity of care.
  • Perform research follow-up studies, assist in data analysis, and participate in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate appropriate length of stay, discharge planning, and compliance with regulatory standards for inpatient management.
  • May serve as clinical preceptor for PA/APRN students and other health professionals, and may serve as Faculty for onboarding new employees.
Requirements
  • MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
  • Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting.
  • Must have arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with requirements set forth by the State Board of Nursing in applicable state(s).
  • Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.
Work Experience

Related clinical experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Typical physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to perform physical tasks. Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. May require exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
