Salary: $11.00 per hour

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to assist with the daily operations of our recreation center. As a Recreation Programs Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our programs and services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Opening/Closing Duties: You will be responsible for opening and closing the gym, preparing for Jones County Recreation League sports, and securing the facility by returning bleachers and goals to their original positions and locking up.
  • Safety and Rules Enforcement: You will ensure gym safety and enforce recreation rules while maintaining a welcoming environment for participants and parents.
  • Support During Practices: You will greet participants and parents, answer questions, and report any equipment issues to the Director. Assist coaches during practices by helping run drills and organizing players as needed.

Requirements:

  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Strong sense of accountability, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
  • Physical ability to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Minimum one year of youth program supervision experience and one year of opening/closing a facility experience.
