Sibley Memorial Hospital has been a vital part of the community since its inception in 1890, providing a wide range of healthcare services including medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, and skilled nursing inpatient services, along with a 24-hour Emergency Department. Position Overview:
Clinical Staff Pharmacists are responsible for evaluating and processing medication orders for inpatients, outpatients, and staff, while maintaining computerized medication profiles and prescription records. They may work in centralized or decentralized pharmacy settings, providing consultation and communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals as necessary. Clinical Staff Pharmacists monitor patient medication therapies for safety and appropriateness, offering drug information as needed. They also supervise and guide support personnel, coordinating departmental activities to ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of quality pharmacy services. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a Clinical Staff Pharmacist may assume essential responsibilities and perform managerial duties. All professional tasks are conducted with the highest ethical standards. Irregular hours may be required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. When 24-hour pharmacy services are not available, rotating on-call coverage for drug information and emergency dispensing may be necessary.

Qualifications:
  1. Current District of Columbia pharmacist license is mandatory.
  2. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution is required.
  3. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting or completion of a pharmacy practice residency is preferred.
  4. Experience in sterile compounding is highly desirable.
  5. Current CPR certification is required.
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Rotating Shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation: Salary ranges from a minimum of 55.74 per hour to a maximum of 91.92 per hour, commensurate with experience and equity for similar roles.
