Position Overview
The Radiologic Specialist at Luminis Health is responsible for conducting radiological assessments under the guidance of the Radiologist and Department Supervisor. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to all patients within the radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient flow by coordinating their arrival to the Radiology department.
  • Accurately log patients in and out of the Meditech system, ensuring all requisitions are properly placed and noted to avoid delays.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in providing care for diverse age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics, while maintaining a current skills inventory.
  • Ensure emergency supplies are stocked and ready for use, conducting daily inspections to maintain safety standards.
  • Assist in patient transportation, adhering to safety protocols during transfers.
  • Support receptionist duties as needed, familiarizing oneself with the responsibilities to provide assistance.
  • Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies, maintaining necessary certifications and attending departmental meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned rooms, ensuring all materials for procedures are adequately stocked.
  • Conduct diagnostic radiographic procedures, preparing patients and providing clear instructions to ensure optimal results.
  • Utilize imaging equipment effectively, applying radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff.
  • Evaluate radiographs for quality, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
  • Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures and provide patient education as necessary.
  • Perform non-routine tasks as directed by the Department Supervisor to foster teamwork.
  • Conduct routine radiographic and EKG examinations across various settings, demonstrating a solid understanding of radiographic equipment.
  • Practice radiological safety consistently, utilizing lead shielding and verifying patient information before procedures.
  • Operate Computed Radiography (CR) equipment and manage the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) effectively.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology is preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • High school diploma with two years of training from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered by ARRT and possess a valid state license.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights of 50 pounds or more.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform tasks that require moderate to fine detail for extended periods, including lifting and transporting patients while adhering to safety protocols.
