This position is located at the Hampton VA Health Care System in VISN 6. The Hampton VAHCS is a Level 1C complexity facility providing care to 71,000 Veterans annually. The medical center is a 387-bed facility that offers comprehensive health care through primary care, acute inpatient medicine, surgery, acute psychiatric, chronic spinal cord injury, a 116-bed domiciliary, a 122-bed long-term care unit, and a free-standing hospice unit.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain currently accepted management practices throughout the clinical services.
- Develop and present the budgetary requirements of the clinical services and assist in the formulation of the annual budget program.
- Be fully responsible to the medical center director for programs of patient care and for the educational and research activities of the clinical services.
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Leadership and supervisory experience with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Board-eligible or board-certified in a medical or surgical specialty.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
