Position Summary:

The Superintendent will oversee skilled trades teams and manage construction activities on large-scale Heavy Highway, roadway, and bridge projects. This role involves collaboration with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Project Engineers to ensure the project is directed, coordinated, and evaluated effectively, with a focus on Safety, Production, and Profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage multiple Foremen to ensure work is conducted safely, efficiently, and with a commitment to quality.
  • Foster a culture of Safety 24/7 among your teams.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing the project schedule.
  • Create detailed 90-day and 3-week schedules for your teams.
  • Conduct pre-planning sessions and set goals with your crews.
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with your work items.
  • Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tools, and material requirements for your teams.
  • Schedule and oversee subcontractors effectively.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience, is required. Candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant construction field management experience, with a preference for roadway and highway experience.

  • Ability to understand and interpret safety regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize innovative management techniques to enhance employee performance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, and their implications on project activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead a diverse team of self-performing trade disciplines.
  • Proficient in creating schedules using Microsoft Excel and preparing documentation in Microsoft Word.
  • Capable of taking responsibility and effectively communicating with team members and stakeholders.
