Senior Medical Call Center Specialist

The Senior Medical Call Center Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining good customer relations with the public, potential clients, caregivers, and fellow employees of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.
This role involves scheduling out-patient appointments, ensuring accurate patient demographic and insurance data entry, and demonstrating compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare setting and strong knowledge of office technology, medical terminology, and health insurance.
Key Responsibilities- Answers incoming calls courteously and respectfully, introducing self and providing a welcome greeting.
- Updates and maintains information in department data applications.
- Schedules patient appointments, gives appointment information, and provides general information within specified departmental guidelines.
- Follows Commitment to Coworkers.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience/education with office technology, medical terminology, and health insurance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent change.
The Senior Medical Call Center Specialist will work in a team environment and be required to maintain a neat, clean appearance/attire and working environment in accordance with department and hospital policies.
