We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team at Augusta Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Evaluate, prepare, and dispense medications in accordance with professional standards, facility procedures, and legal requirements.
- Supervision and Leadership: Supervise pharmacy technicians, technician trainees, and pharmacist interns, monitoring workflow and workload, and ensuring accuracy and quality of medication preparation and dispensing.
- Medication Distribution and Handling: Oversee the distribution and handling of controlled substances, including record keeping, documentation, accuracy, and resolution of medication discrepancies.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Demonstrate a knowledge of metric weights and measures, pharmaceutics, medications mechanism of action, routes of administration, and medication incompatibilities, and apply problem-solving skills to resolve medication therapy problems.
- Collaboration and Communication: Provide reliable drug information to physicians, nurses, patients, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team, and engage in training of pharmacy students through participation in IPPE and APPE related activities.
- Licensure: Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Skills: Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a busy and fast-paced environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
