Staff Pharmacist

The Inpatient Staff Pharmacist is a key member of our pharmacy team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our hospital setting. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, prepare, and dispense medications in accordance with professional standards, facility procedures, and legal requirements.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, technician trainees, and pharmacist interns, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Monitor and direct workflow, prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Oversee the distribution and handling of controlled substances, maintaining accurate records and resolving medication discrepancies.
- Assist in the maintenance and optimization of pharmacy automation and software technologies.
- Review medication orders for completeness, accuracy, and legality, identifying potential medication therapy problems.
- Provide reliable drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
- Engage in training and education of pharmacy students and staff.
- Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in a team environment, with a willingness to learn and adapt to change.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
