Job Summary

The Inpatient Staff Pharmacist is a key member of the Augusta Health team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our inpatient pharmacy. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacology, medication therapy, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with facility procedures and legal requirements.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor and resolve medication discrepancies, ensuring accurate and safe medication use.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide reliable drug information and support medication therapy decisions.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, identifying and reporting adverse drug events and medication errors.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex medication-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
