Job Summary

The Inpatient Staff Pharmacist is a key member of the Augusta Health team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our hospital setting. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmacy practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns
  • Conduct medication therapy reviews and provide recommendations for optimization
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
