Job Title: Senior GPU Driver Engineer

MediaTek is a global leader in developing innovative systems-on-chip (SoC) for mobile devices, home entertainment, connectivity, and IoT products. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GPU Driver Engineer to join our team in San Diego/San Jose office.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement interfaces between GPU driver and hardware/compiler
  • Develop and implement GPU API/Hardware features spanning the entire software stack
  • Collaborate with Hardware and Compiler teams to implement new API and hardware features
  • Work across teams to improve and fine-tune performance and power consumption
  • Timely execution to meet milestones and schedules
  • Analyze and debug customer issues
  • Wide-ranging scope from GPU driver, compiler, tools, and infrastructure to profile and optimize GPU software
  • Analyze and influence future GPU architectures and compilers
  • Build reliable and cordial relationships with internal teams and customers
Requirements:
  • BS, MS, or PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related majors
  • 8+ years of hands-on work experience with GPU pre-silicon or production driver
  • 8+ years of experience with C, C++ programming
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-driven with emphasis on teamwork
  • Very good with execution, problem-solving, and root cause analysis
Preferred Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of GPU pipeline, architecture/hardware, and GPU system software
  • Prior experience in industry-standard APIs like Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL
  • Have worked on ML/AI frameworks like DirectML, TensorFlow, PyTorch

Salary range: $180,000-$256,000

Employee may be eligible for performance bonus, short and long-term incentive programs. Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
