About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Specialist to join our team at AEG. As an Audio Visual Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, setting up, and operating audiovisual systems for live events, including virtual streaming support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with clients to understand their audiovisual requirements and provide expert recommendations for system configurations.
  • Analyze and configure audiovisual components, including cameras, video switchers, and audio mixers, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Document and maintain audiovisual requirements for each event, ensuring accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment.
  • Provide level-1 and level-2 support for audiovisual equipment and component issues, escalating complex problems to advanced support teams and vendors as needed.
  • Manage and maintain audiovisual equipment, including troubleshooting software, firmware, and hardware errors and failures.
  • Oversee and set up large-scale meetings for on-site and hybrid video streaming, including camera set-ups, video switching, and audio mixing.
  • Setup, video record, and edit events as assigned by management, ensuring high-quality output and timely delivery.
  • Diagnose and repair videoconferencing equipment and computer hardware, contacting vendors as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Conduct standard walk-throughs to ensure all systems are operational prior to and during events.
  • Provide support for point-of-sale systems, company PCs, printers, and related equipment, escalating issues to the service desk as needed.
  • Update company PCs, printers, and related equipment, including end-user support, PC maintenance, POS maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization and adhere to all standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team to resolve tickets and issues.
  • Attend weekly meetings and individual client meetings to discuss event timelines and establish audiovisual needs.
  • Support sister properties as needed.
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job-specific safety training.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field, such as audiovisual technology or a related field.
  • Knowledge of CAT5/6 crimping in different cable configurations, including making LAN cables.
  • Experience with active directory and Point-of-Sale (preferably Oracle Micros POS).
  • Experience with a variety of videoconferencing equipment, computers, networking, peripherals, wireless microphones, Push-to-Talk systems, channel mixers, broadcast cameras, and video switchers.
  • Crestron 4K Certification and Biamp/Tesira Certification are desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including operating systems.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize, manage, and complete multiple tasks in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective oral presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, organizing tasks based on priority and urgency.
  • Ability to manage confidential client information.
  • Ability to quickly learn and support new technologies, think independently, and employ excellent follow-through skills, all while exhibiting a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to function in a team environment and establish and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a 'flexible schedule,' including overtime, early mornings, and some evenings.
