Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Paralegal to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our Regulatory Compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's compliance with state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including annual, quarterly, and supplemental statements/exhibits, premium tax, data calls, and other reports.
  • Research and communicate changes to financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Underwriting, Claims, and Risk Management departments to gather necessary information for required filings.
  • Work with third-party vendors on premium tax calculations and payments, agent appointment and renewals, and other reports.
  • Interact with state officials regarding filings, consumer issues, and compliance obligations.
  • Maintain a database of required filing and filing deadlines.
  • Manage onboarding, appointments, renewals, and terminations of producer and adjuster licenses; maintain licensing database.
  • Assist with and manage legal research and other special project work as assigned by other Legal Department team members.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience as a paralegal, regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Experience in the (re)insurance industry is a plus.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to solve problems, make decisions, exercise good judgment, and work independently.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize; be highly organized and detail-oriented.
Work Schedule

TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, local office practices, and business objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week and 2 days remote.

Compensation

In addition to base salary, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity, is $70,000 - $80,000. This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant's specific skill set and level of experience.
