Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide education and information to patients and their families regarding treatments, procedures, and continuing care.
  • Explain medication(s) and treatment plans to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate scheduling, lab results, and recordkeeping.
  • Answer and address incoming patient clinical calls, RX, and PA.
  • Type up phone notes/cases and route to providers regarding patient concerns.
  • Place phone calls to patients regarding answers to concerns.
  • Call and inform patients of pathology/lab results.
  • Schedule patients for surgeries (excision, etc.).
  • Retrieve patient information from PCP or specialist's office.
  • Obtain patient results from affiliated labs.
  • Fax reports per request of outside providers.
  • Maintain the PA/RX buckets.
  • Support and assist with ePath and procedure scheduling as needed.
  • Check patient portal messages and route to provider accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patient's record.
  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, consultants, patients, significant others, and community.
  • Reduce conflict and increase patient satisfaction through timely response to calls.
  • Prioritize work tasks and services and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Complete Administrative Proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web-based applications, email, HRIS systems).
Requirements
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
  • Triage experience is preferred.
  • Dermatology experience is preferred.
