Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Grants Management Specialist is to act as a financial and operational resource for program directors, administrators, and research personnel. This role is crucial for securing and managing federal and non-federal research funding in alignment with organizational and sponsor guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with principal investigators to prepare and submit research grants and sponsored activities.
2. Execute all pre and post-award administrative tasks related to research funding.
3. Serve as a point of contact for departments and research teams, addressing inquiries and guiding them through funding opportunities and proposal guidelines.
4. Facilitate budget creation and institutional approvals for research proposals.
5. Monitor grant accounts, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and financial reporting.
6. Assist in negotiations related to grants, contracts, and subcontracts.
7. Support the development and delivery of educational sessions on research grants for various audiences.
8. Review and refine policies and procedures for clarity and consistency.

Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of five years in pre and post-award grant management or clinical research finance is essential, preferably within a medical research or healthcare setting.
Skills: Proficiency in grant management, including budget development, proposal submissions, and financial reporting is crucial. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
