Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team at Vaco. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems and infrastructure to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives to maintain and improve cloud-based Azure technology services.
  • Provide leadership to IT and University Bank in the implementation, maintenance, and support of cloud-based systems.
  • Evaluate existing IT and business technology systems and develop technical roadmaps for those systems.
  • Partner with IT and non-IT management to understand technical needs and develop technical solution recommendations.
  • Provide guidance on cloud-based licensing and support contracts and maintain licensing compliance.
  • Implement technology solutions that ensure the design of systems allows full integration into the existing and planned cloud-based IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure cloud-based services have appropriate business continuity and tested disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Develop enterprise testing plans for integration of proposed new cloud-based technologies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for increased efficiency, cost savings, and process automation within the IT technology infrastructure.
  • Partner with vendor partners in the design, specification, and implementation of new technology solutions.
  • Perform administration of network and resource structure, including server support and Active Directory support.
  • Participate in on-call after-hours support and respond to support calls.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance projects and documentation.
  • Mentor and train IT employees on technology solution maintenance and support activities.
  • Own and manage cloud-based technology design, implementation, conversion, and upgrade initiatives.
  • Participate in the annual IT budgeting process to ensure accurate recording and forecasting of costs.
  • Maintain existing systems, including patching, updates, and upgrades.
  • Document systems and support techniques and cross-train others within the IT department.
  • Provide assistance as needed for escalated issues and problems from other areas of IT and from business units.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar discipline.
  • 6 years of IT experience required.
  • 4 years of technical engineering experience highly preferred.
  • 4 years of cloud/Azure-based engineering experience.
  • Experience managing Azure tenants, licensing, and provisioning.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, contract reviews, and SLA compliance.
  • Experience with virtualized environments, cloud infrastructure, switch/router management, and support of business applications.
  • Demonstrated customer service capabilities, back-up, and recovery, and understanding of cyber-security practices.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry highly preferred.
  • Project management experience highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer-level knowledge of cloud-based Azure technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure-hosted desktop provisioning, monitoring, and management.
  • Engineer-level knowledge of IT technology infrastructure components.
  • Demonstrated experience with building positive working environments within an IT department and with business unit customers.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and performance reporting systems.
  • Experience with automation of IT tasks and increasing operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to understand and track expenditures as compared to budget plans.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing integrated technology solutions across multiple business units.
  • Ability to mentor and train employees.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task productively.
  • Excellent time management skills, meets deadlines, and is results-oriented.
  • Project management experience.
  • Takes ownership for the successful completion of projects and tasks.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
