The RN Practice Specialist in Critical Care plays a pivotal role in enhancing clinical quality and patient safety within the healthcare environment. This position is integral to the development and support of nursing staff in specialized clinical areas, collaborating closely with clinical leadership to drive improvements in patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a clinical resource, partnering with clinical leaders to empower nursing staff in achieving superior patient outcomes.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance quality and safety metrics.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to pinpoint professional development needs and create tailored growth plans.
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of quality and patient safety data to inform nursing practices.
- Lead the execution of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) initiatives, including the refinement of clinical guidelines.
- Analyze research findings and develop strategies for their integration into clinical practice.
- Conduct regular unit rounds to provide coaching and mentorship in collaboration with clinical leadership.
Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification:
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the relevant nursing board required prior to employment.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is mandatory.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience is required, with 5 years preferred.
