The **Aviation Maintenance Specialist** is responsible for conducting pre and post-operational assessments, fueling, and managing aircraft along with support apparatus, which includes both conditional and scheduled inspections as well as routine maintenance.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Execute aircraft movements, fuel and defuel operations, secure aircraft and rotor systems, and manage blade restraints.

+ Ensure the safety and security of aircraft and components, service engines and transmissions, and oversee maintenance operations.

+ Provide direction for aircraft movement and fire guard services during both ground and airborne activities.

+ Familiarize oneself with all maintenance instruction manuals and operational guidelines.

+ Launch and recover aircraft in alignment with the operational flight schedule, including helicopter landing signal services.

+ Adhere to standard aircraft handling and taxi protocols, including NATOPS, specific aircraft manuals, and local regulations.

+ Identify signs of corrosion and apply knowledge from the corrosion control manual.

+ Conduct pre-operational checks and maintain all work center support equipment; operate ground support machinery such as electrical power supplies, tow tractors, light carts, and engine starting units; check for fuel contamination and replenish necessary fluids.

**Additional Duties:**

+ Maintain cleanliness in all work areas, including shops, and participate in the FOD program.

+ Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.

+ Obtain and maintain all necessary support equipment licenses, ensuring a valid and current Driver's License.

+ Carry out other related duties as assigned or requested.

**Work Environment and Physical Demands:**

This role requires frequent walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling and feeling. The employee must be capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and must be able to communicate effectively. The position necessitates the ability to perform maintenance tasks and move freely around the aircraft while adhering to specific weight limits. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, and various weather conditions, with a regular noise level that is typically loud.

**Qualifications:**

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ A minimum of two years of recent experience in aircraft maintenance, modification, or repair, particularly with H-60s or similar rotary aircraft.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) with a Tier 3 adjudication.

+ Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for maintenance tasks is essential.

+ Must possess a valid Driver's License and meet physical demands associated with routine aircraft maintenance tasks.

+ Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
