Tissue Procurement Coordinator Job Description

Live On Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tissue Procurement Coordinator to join our Tissue Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the procurement of human tissues for medical research and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tissue Recovery: Coordinate and facilitate the surgical recovery of tissues, ensuring the highest quality and integrity of the donated materials.
  • Donor Assessment: Gather and accurately assess patient medical records and donor risk assessment to determine suitability for tissue donation.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete the donor electronic record, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Communicate with potential donor families about the donation process, providing sensitive and ethical treatment to each donor.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in anatomy or a related field (health sciences or nursing) is preferred or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Certification: Ability to obtain and maintain a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist Certification (CTBS).
  • Travel: Able to travel by vehicle, with a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance.
