Position: Financial Operations Analyst with expertise in Business Analysis required for a prominent consultancy.

  • PAY RATE: 1099 / CTC: $71/hr ; W2 Hourly: $64/hr
  • Duration: 12 months with potential for extension
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week during daytime

*This role is hybrid - candidates are expected to work onsite for part of the week and remotely for the remainder.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the financial, budgetary, and accounting functions for the organization. Strategically plan, organize, and manage the development and execution of fiscal operations, processes, policies, and procedures.

Assist in the formulation of the annual budget and evaluate statewide expenditure and financial data. Conduct monthly analysis of program/project expenses and support the review and assessment of financial allocations and budgets. Provide critical support for executive decision-making and effectively communicate financial insights to senior leadership. A solid understanding of budgeting and accounting principles is essential, along with the ability to dissect complex business challenges and propose viable solutions.

Engage in the creation and upkeep of performance metrics and targets to enhance financial accountability, while identifying opportunities for performance improvement.

Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external clients, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities (Excel, MS Word), effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to task completion.

Offer guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding contract-related issues to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, monitor contractor performance and payments, resolve disputes, and manage relationships with external contractors.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of computers and software applications (Microsoft 365), including advanced Excel functionalities such as pivot tables and complex spreadsheets.
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Ability to provide customer service to a diverse audience, including professionals, vendors, team members, and executive staff.
  • General understanding of accounting practices and financial management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing performance metrics and methods to enhance financial accountability.
  • Familiarity with financial practices within the Commonwealth of VA.
  • Experience with financial management systems.
