Role Summary:
The Audio-Visual Systems Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the operational efficiency of all audio, visual, and lighting production networks and control systems. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and integration of production systems across various venues related to Harvest's live or recorded events.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of audio systems, including:
- Speakers, Amplifiers, Tuning, Audio Distribution, Audio Networking, and Audio Console Setup.
- Wireless RF Coordination and Microphones.
Additionally, expertise in visual systems such as:
- ProPresenter, projectors, TVs, Broadcast Cameras, Video Switchers, and LED video walls.
And proficiency in lighting systems, including:
- DMX and Lighting Networking.
Strong troubleshooting skills are essential for identifying and resolving potential issues within entertainment network systems.
This role also involves collaboration as a creative team member, where the specialist may mix audio for special services or events, operate audio consoles, and manage other production equipment for Harvest events. Coordination with campus teams is crucial to maintain an accurate inventory of all production gear.
Additional Duties:
The Audio-Visual Systems Specialist may also:
- Assist in the research, design, and implementation of new production systems.
- Work alongside external vendors and Harvest teams during system installations.
- Provide training to team members on repair and troubleshooting techniques.
Physical Requirements:
The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and 50 to 100 lbs on a semi-regular basis. Candidates should be prepared for prolonged periods of sitting, standing, climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, bending, and carrying equipment, as well as extended periods of screen time.
Qualifications:
- Dante 3 certification with expert knowledge of audio networking protocols.
- Ability to maintain up-to-date documentation on production system designs.
- Commitment to staying informed about current industry standards and emerging technologies.
