Job Summary

Spectrum Healthcare Partners is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our orthopedic team. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with providers to support and enhance patient care in sports medicine and orthopedic practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete patient intake process, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and obtaining patient history
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, rehabilitation, wellness, and pre- and post-operative care
  • Provide prevention, emergency, and first aid care, with prompt triage
  • Implement individualized therapeutic interventions and monitor patient responses to ensure safety
  • Apply casting, splinting, and DME/brace fitting as ordered by providers
  • Assist patients with understanding proper fit and use of support devices, as well as gait training
  • Work closely with rehab and occupational therapy departments to coordinate post-operative protocols and rehabilitation
  • Report progress and medical changes to physicians
  • Re-evaluate treatment plans as needed to ensure maximum patient benefit
  • Document patient treatment timely and accurately in the electronic health record
  • Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures
  • Triage patient messages appropriately, utilizing physician or advanced practice practitioner as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training
  • Current State of Maine Athletic Trainer licensure or eligibility
  • Current BOC certification required
  • Current BLS required
  • Athletic training experience
  • Knowledge and education in evaluation of orthopedic injuries
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skill in time management, prioritizing, and medical care coordination
  • Ability to work independently and excel as part of a team
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
