About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative at the Foreigners' Office. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and decision-making of applications for residence permits, as well as providing detailed information and intercultural advice to customers on residence law and granting principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independent acceptance, processing and decision-making of applications for residence permits
  • Deciding on the entitlement or obligation to participate in an integration course
  • Checking and deciding on the creation of commitment declarations
  • Providing detailed information and intercultural advice to customers on residence law and granting principles
  • Advising and providing information on procedures and scheduling for emergency customers at the express counter
  • Conducting passport and identity checks
  • Collaboration with the legal departments of the immigration office
Requirements
  • Completed training in the middle non-technical administrative service, as an administrative assistant or a comparable qualification for legally oriented case processing
  • Alternatively: Completed training as a commercial clerk with professional experience in an immigration office and willingness to further qualify
  • Alternatively: Social insurance specialist, legal assistant, notary or justice assistant, each with willingness to requalify for the new area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of general administrative law is advantageous
  • Good knowledge of English is advantageous
  • Service-oriented, confident and calm demeanor, empathy and appreciation in dealing with customers, as well as teamwork skills
  • Independent and responsible work style, reliability and resilience
  • Intercultural and social competence
