Job Description

This position is part of a collaborative effort to support the DoDEA Education Partnership WLARP Grant Project. The successful candidate will provide high-quality Chinese literacy instruction to K-5 students, utilizing research-based methods and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Chinese language instruction to K-5 students in a pull-out setting, focusing on literacy skills and language development.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to integrate Chinese language and culture into the curriculum.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring student engagement and motivation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices in second language acquisition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; advanced degree and teaching certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience teaching Chinese as a second language at the K-5 level; five or more years preferred.
  • Native speaker or superior level of proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, 10-month position, with frequent driving between campuses required. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
