Halo Industries is a leading innovator in the field of semiconductor manufacturing, and we are seeking a highly skilled Laser Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of our next-generation industrial semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Laser Systems: Ensure the smooth operation of our laser materials processing setups and procedures, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct Experimental Research: Design and conduct hands-on experiments to characterize the underlying physical effects in novel optical systems, and analyze data to inform design improvements.
  • Develop and Implement Design Improvements: Use data analysis and simulation to propose design improvements based on experimental results, and work with cross-functional teams to implement these changes.
  • Analyze and Interpret Data: Identify causal relationships between observed performance and design parameters, and interpret empirical data to inform design decisions.
  • Communicate Results: Summarize and present experimental results to team members, and contribute to the development of technical reports and presentations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in physics, optics, or materials science, with a focus on the development and experimental application of optical or laser devices and systems. In addition, you will need to have:

  • Strong Hands-on Skills: Experience with the alignment, test, and characterization of optical devices and laser systems.
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interdisciplinary Team Experience: Experience working in an interdisciplinary team environment, collaborating with mechanical engineers and materials experts.
Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the requirements listed above, we are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Optical System Design: Experience with the design and development of optical systems, including ray tracing and simulation.
  • Materials Science: Experience with semiconductor materials and their properties.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab or Python, with experience in instrument control and data analysis.
