At Temple Health, we are seeking a skilled Medical Communication Specialist to play a vital role in bridging linguistic and cultural gaps between patients seeking healthcare services and healthcare providers.
This critical position involves facilitating communication in spoken and written language within a healthcare setting while adhering to a strict professional code of ethics.
The successful candidate will serve as a Linguistic Services Coordinator, receiving and processing service requests from providers, organizing interpreter services, and prioritizing scheduling requests based on established protocols.
Key responsibilities include deploying staff interpreters, arranging vendor interpreters, and supporting the training of new medical interpreters.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work under minimal supervision.
**Requirements:**
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
**Experience:**
- 1 Year experience as a formally trained, tested medical interpreter (Required)
- General Experience communicating in English and target language (Bilingual) (Required)
- General Experience in healthcare (Required)
**Certifications:**
- CMI
- Certified Medical Interpreter (Preferred)
