Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of purchased raw materials or components supplied to Belimo by external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and purchasing, to address quality concerns and implement improvements.
  • Represent the Americas region during innovation projects, supporting the Product Creation Process (PCP), and develop Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) for zero series and revision changes.
  • Manage and coordinate regional Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Assess potential suppliers within the Americas region to ensure they meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and implement quality standards and processes for purchased materials that suppliers must follow.
  • Conduct scheduled audits of suppliers to ensure adherence to agreed-upon quality standards and specifications.
  • Address quality issues or defects in collaboration with suppliers to prevent future occurrences.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supplier quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and documents related to supplier quality, including inspection reports, corrective action plans, and control plans.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Provide training and guidance to suppliers and in-house technicians on quality standards and expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Engineering preferred in an industrial manufacturing or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on supporting product/process quality.
  • Demonstrated high degree of data analysis skill.
  • Proficient use of a personal computer, along with additional software products such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and cloud-based applications.
  • Travel requirement of approximately 20%, including foreign travel.
