The Chief Executive Officer for the Anderson Education Foundation (AEF) is tasked with designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to bolster the Anderson Community Schools (ACS).

This role also encompasses the promotion of the foundation's mission as a not-for-profit organization.

Reports to:
The CEO reports directly to the board of directors of the Anderson Education Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree or higher with at least one year of preferred experience in nonprofit leadership and/or educational settings. An associate degree with relevant experience may also be considered.

Strong advocacy for public education.

Experience in fundraising and donor relations.

Exceptional leadership, public speaking, and interpersonal abilities.

Proficient written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing.

Experience in budget development, implementation, and management.

Ability to assist the organization in crafting and executing its strategic vision.

Effective utilization of various social media platforms for engagement, fundraising, and networking.

Familiarity with Google Suite and other digital tools.

A high degree of initiative and self-motivation.

Capability to work independently while being accountable to the board of directors.

Strong skills in building partnerships.

Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership

Champion the interests of ACS students and educators while promoting ACS through diverse programs, events, and grants.

Take a proactive leadership role within the community surrounding ACS.


Communicate effectively and foster positive relationships with donors, grant-making organizations, other educational foundations, board members, volunteers, school staff, district administrators, and other key stakeholders.

Network with other foundations statewide, including the Indiana Association of Public Education Foundations (INAPEF).

Support the board of directors and its committees. Provide onboarding resources for new board members; maintain records of meeting attendance, committee assignments, etc.

Fundraising

Oversee significant events such as the biennial Hall of Fame and the annual Top Twenty Student banquet, along with other AEF special events.

Collaborate with the board to coordinate fundraising initiatives that align with the AEF mission.

Secure financial contributions from individuals, corporations, organizations, and other funding sources. Acknowledge donations and issue tax receipts.

Identify and obtain grants from various sources, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

Maintain donor management software (Bloomerang).

Administrative


Manage the AEF office, ensuring the maintenance of official records and organizing all documents in Google Drive.

Dispose of documents in accordance with public document disposal regulations.

Collaborate with ACS HR and Payroll to promote the Payroll Partner program.

Engage other organizations to facilitate employee contributions to AEF through Payroll Partner.

Keep the website updated.

Ensure the long-term sustainability of the AEF by overseeing financial management and investment strategies.

Communicate with accountants, insurance representatives, financial advisors, and other professionals as necessary.

Recruit volunteers as needed.

Maintain an inventory of classroom supplies and inform past contributors of current needs.

AEF Teacher Grants and Student Scholarships

Oversee and coordinate grant and scholarship initiatives.

Assist the selection committee with all aspects of their processes, including preparing documentation and revising application forms.

Manage the disbursement of grants and scholarships.

Recognize grant recipients and individuals who support named grants/scholarships.

Ensure timely submission of all required reports.

Marketing

Develop and manage public relations activities and media outreach.

Create and produce a quarterly AEF newsletter and maintain social media presence.
