Key Responsibilities

This position is PRN, with hours that may vary.

The MRI Technologist is responsible for conducting MRI examinations, assisting radiologists during procedures, and producing high-quality imaging results. The role involves serving diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

  • Utilizes two patient identifiers for verification
  • Ensures accuracy by comparing doctor's orders to requisitions
  • Evaluates patients for potential artifacts and takes necessary actions to prevent interference with imaging
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Coordinates multiple examinations in the correct sequence to avoid conflicts
  • Assesses doctor's orders and patient diagnoses to determine optimal imaging strategies
  • Monitors patient condition, comfort, and safety throughout procedures
  • Observes and reports any changes in patient condition to the physician during procedures
  • Communicates precise patient information promptly to peers, physicians, and other departments

The technologist is also responsible for:

  • Using all diagnostic, computer, and communication equipment within safe operational limits
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
  • Registered in Radiology
  • Registered in MRI or registry eligible (must complete registry within one year of hire)
  • AHA BLS certification
  • MRITech certification
